    Looking good GOO!

Will you be taking her down to FG when she's finished? I'd love to get a look in the flesh.

JM - maybe. depends on wether my mate and his kid need a ride that match (we car share and split the cost of the parking ticket). If they don't on a particular match day, and it's just me and MrsGOO, and the wether isn't bad, I can't see why not. :)

Any way - Not one, Not two but three updates to my build website!

    http://www.greatoldone.co.uk/Gooster/Build_Diary/Entries/2010/1/20_Mats,_Flaps_&_Belts.html
    http://www.greatoldone.co.uk/Gooster/Build_Diary/Entries/2010/2/21_Covering_up_by_Gas_Light.html
    http://www.greatoldone.co.uk/Gooster/Low_Fuel_Light.html

The two blog entries have nothing I haven't posted here already, but I have added a new page devoted to the low fuel light circuitry, with all of Rob's calculations and high res copies of the circuit and the veroboard layout if you want them.

The other thing is I've re-enabled commenting on the site - I couldn't get it working on previous version of iWeb so i used a third party ad on that wasn't that great (and has now given up the ghost altogether) - but I have got the in-built commenting system on iWeb 09 working now. So you can leave me rude messages on my site as well as here! :D

Covering up by Gas Light page = nothing but background and 100% CPU in Firefox, works fine in Chrome though...might just be my lack of Quicktime.

I have QTL on my main rig and that had some issues on the Gas Light page, probably fine with the real thing though.

Using Chrome, no QT and there's no real usage on my laptop, even with its weedy processor.

Interesting... Works fine in Safari, and all the other videos on the site are in QT... I'll take a look at home tonight. I did have an issue when I first published that page, as I havd dropped an AVI in rather than a .mov

You have come a long way since I last dropped in with a comment.
    Very nice work GOO.

wish I could do the same thing here. Unfortunately We don't have the SVA, but I could always build one in Britain and import it 3 months later. Then it would just be a matter of taxes and all the other fluff that our goverment imposes on us. But could I even build a car with the steering wheel on the left side in Britain?

Left hand drive vehicles are fine over here. Insurance premiums are usually a bit higher, but otherwise it's the same.

Why can't you do something like this in Denmark though? Is it a bit like Switzerland where you can't mod cars at all?

You could build three and subject 2 to crash tests... then drive the third.
There's a reason most prototype cars have a britisch reg. within europe ;-)

Fingers crossed I'll have a date soon. Swansea phoned earlier today and took the test fee. Ouch. ;)

Once the nice lady from Torchwood... Sorry, VOSA had debited my card, she went on to say my application would be looked at by the Weevils from the tech section next. ;)

(Yes, I know. Wrong city, but the DVLA is so big it might as well have torn a rift in the fabric of spacetime...)

Ouch, £450 is rather a lot. I love how you're classified as "Amateur"... Heh.

Well it came from an E30 BMW 325i, so 3 litre straight six with ~190bhp from memory. Not the sport version though, so no M-Tech LSD for lairy tail smoking.

[edit] No, 169bhp from 2494cc apparently. Should be pretty brisk in something as light as that though. :D

It's the early high compression M20B25 engine, which as Krikkit mentioned is good for 169-170bhp

2.5 litre, fuel injected straight 6.

Although I do have an LSD. ;)

Everything you ever wanted to know about the M20 series engine, but where afraid to ask:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M20

Mine is an early M20B25 (I know this from the block codes, "25 6E" are high compression, "25 6K" are later low compression), so these are the figures:

    126 kW (168 hp) @ 5800, 226 N·m (166 ft·lbf) @ 4000, Redline @ 6700

Of course, I doubt it'll put that out now, as it's 25 years old, and was rebuilt by an "amateur"

Yeah, maybe not. If it's a high-comp engine you might lose quite a bit once the liners start to go. I'm sure you can find a RR day somewhere without too much trouble, to put your handywork to the test! :D

You might find any lost ponies are regained by not having a power steering pump and a lesser electrical load :).
