Later in the year - I still need to fit the windscreen. Probably during the summer.

Goo won't get assigned a number plate until he hands in his IVA paperwork to his local DVLA (Driver & Vehicle Licensing Authority - UK equivalent to US DMV) branch office.

This is so amazing that I'm going to have to take a night and go all the way back to the beginning and read this fantastic build log all over again. I'm totally won over by this, congratulations! I can't wait to see it painted up and going down the road ;)

You have seriously increased my ambition to do something similar to this some day, although rather than building a kit car my goal since I was old enough to know what cars were was to restore an ex rally '94 GT-Four ST205 :)

Fantastic read. Thanks for keeping us all in the loop on this project GOO. It'll almost be a shame when it finally comes to an end!

    Awesome news GOO!!!

I somehow still remember when you first posted this, can't believe it's been five years! But the time and patience you put into it really shows. Most people would have become impatient with the build process, and "took a break" till it rotted to dust in a shed, or cut corners and did a half-handed job about it. I can understand why the inspector was so impressed with your work, as it is truly something to be impressed by.

I cant wait to see it in its fully painted glory, and hopefully ill be able to sneak a ride in it from you during my somewhat planned Europe trip after I graduate from University.

PS. You need to get a helmet cam, and take her down the the Nürburgring! :D

    News!

I have my DVLA inspection booked for Monday at 11:30. I've got the day off, and the man with the covered trailer will be arriving at mine for about 10:45.

I paid my first registration fee and 6 months road tax last night when I handed over the paperwork - So I'm hoping that I'll get a reg number and tax disc once the inspector has finished jotting down the VIN and engine numbers.

Then it'll be off to the local 'plates-while-you-wait' place, and then out for a cruise in the Gooster! :)

Will you be getting the old C-plate back or going for a private one? I assume you did tell the IVA man that lots of bits came from the beemer so you don't have to use a Q-plate.
