Don't worry, I'm sure there'll be plenty of reasons to rip into me once you've seen my performance tonight ;)

Joking apart, I'm quite interested to see what has actually made it onto the show. They have at least 20 minutes of talking head interview footage of me, roughly 10 minutes of footage of me cooking, serving up and talking to John and Gregg in the kitchen, and 5-10 minutes of footage of John and Gregg tasting and criticising my food. This along with the same amount of footage for 5 other contestants has to be condensed into barely 15 minutes of television.

You wouldn't think from watching the show that the first heat (the 'invention test') is a solid day's worth of filming and faffing around.

So you didn't make it to the Stress Test then?

Way to go spoling our MasterChef fun! Either way, awesome programme to be on, MasterChef rules!

(And I have a soft spot for last seasons runner up, Emily Ludolf. She was lovely:

Argh, not long to go. Quite anxious about the whole thing now!

BTW, if anyone has the facilities to record this and stick it on YouTube, I would be very very grateful. I have some friends abroad who want to be able to see this. I don't mind putting the thing on YouTube myself if someone can email me the video of it. PM me if you're interested in helping :)

Bummer, but kudos for trying. I wouldn't even have the kahoonas to apply.

I guess the whole raw garlic thing was your downfall, eh?

OK, that was the most surreal experience ever. Seeing myself on TV. Wow.

Strange how on the TV the "raw garlic" malarkey was shown to be my main downfall, when it was nothing more than a passing comment when they were tasting my food. What they failed to mention was the fact that I undercooked my damn spuds. I thought they'd make a big thing of that but it got overlooked by the editors for some reason. Surely undercooking a potato is a bigger culinary faux-pas than a slight raw garlic taste.

Still, I'm pleased that I apparently know how to cook lamb well :)
