Wiiiii, I'm finally gonna buy a mobile phone after long being poked to death by my friends. But which one do you suggest? I don't want to spend an awful lot of money on it (like, I only want to spend up to £150 - £200).

I like the 3410 for it's java-abilities, which I could use to control my PC over great distances :D. Also the price is good, and it has everything what a good mobile phone would need. Yet, I haven't looked at many other phones...

    Anoyone has suggestions or something?

Isn't the T68i way too expensive? And it doesn't have the java-stuff!! Or does it has something else that allows me to make programs for it?

The T68i is a very nice phone, but look at the t68 as well. Only difference is it can't send the photo messages but that can be fixed by a free software update from sony :D

7650 is nice IMO as well ;)

With a contract, you can get almost any phone for that price. The t68i was only going to cost me 150 usd with a 1 year contract to give you some idea.

    Cheers,
    David

Don't want a contract either, too expensive :sigh:

I only need prepaid, as I won't call that much and stuff, it's not going to be cheaper for me if I take a contract.

IMO the Sony - Ericsson phone's screen is pants... we've got them in work, they suffer from "Halo's" where the corners of the screens are cloudy... if you want proof of the crap quality of the screen open the "Draw" program and draw a vertical black line down the screen. Then you'll see how crap it is... IMO the only good colour screen phone is the Samsung cos it uses TFT...

I'd hold off colour screen until the tech becomes a bit more refined.

just after viewing this thread before i looked at the sony site and thought 'ooh, pretty' - then a friend showed up with a t68...it's nicer colours than the t68i and he got the firmware for free and the camera for £20

    so it's the same as a t68i for £20 :D

it IS a contract phone though...

I think the T68, original but updated to T68i software is the best :) It has a rubbery back and not the whishy white color :p
Sorry to take off topic Relix, what fones do you have the option of?

All of them prolly, but below £150 (if with a subscription, the subscription for a year (so the 12 months) + the phone should also be max £150, maybe bit more but not much)

    t68i handsdown for gadgets.

you can download/make your own screensavers, backgrounds, ringtones.its got an organiser, stores loads of messages(samsung t100 only does 10 not bad if you got no mates).
also can record a half hour of conversation.

    nice for wap as well.

if you want java get a siemens sl45 with sl45i software and get a 128mb memory card for your mp3s.

both these phones are pretty swish in features and looks and are £150 simfree.
