I just got ahold of an older laptop. Its a Pentium 2 366Mhz with 128mb of RAM.

I'd like to be able to play DivX and Xvid files on it. It can decode the vdieo and sound but they go out of sync pretty fast.

So, anyone got any suggestions for for ehancing the performance. Maybe like only rendering every other line to reduce CPU time used. I've been using media player classic but it doesnt have much by the way of performance enhancment.

Go into the specific codec settings (if you installed divx in the native exe form from divx.com then it will be in your start menu) and tune them way down. If image quality is any concern of yours, then you may as well sell that laptop and buy a newer one :thumb: Brutal but honest truth.
