I was at a job interview today, and while at the train station I took a quite moody picure.

Added a bit of photoshop magic and posted it online:

Was taken on a phone though, so the quality isn't brilliant, but I do like the grain you get from a phone camera when desaturated.

They do seem to work well when you use the maximum resolution with night mode enabled, then resize down to 1024x768, despeckle and sharpen.

Although I'd much prefer my old dSLR.

    Edit:

If anyone wants to know, it was taken with a Nokia 6300.

Obviously yeah, i'm sure you'd of prefered the whole thing, dSLR + Tripod + perfect lens. But sometimes, the phone camera is the for you when you need it ;)
Happened to me a few times I must say!

Everyone makes such a big deal about DSLRs, but I think people have forgotten that photography was around long before the advent of 12 megapixel wonders. I personally think that a DSRL + tripod + perfect lens would have yielded a shot that is too clean. Coincidentally enough, the image would most likely have been post processed to look the way it does now.

The camera phone may be there when you need it, but sometimes it might be all you need.

I love the pic but I think the contrast is a bit harsh...the tracks are a little dark, and the sky is pure white so its hard to look at without hurting your eyes...

Well the main reason I would've prefered to use the slr would've mainly been to adjust the focus, my 300d (broken) wasn't exactly brilliant quality anyway. Most of the pictures I took with it were pretty grainy.
