Need some views based on experiences.

I'm going to get the new black nano and I want to get some decent headphones but I want the in-ear variety.

I've read mixed reviews about the Sennhieser CX300's, and someone at work has those entry level sure ones, but they didnt suit my ears.

I had some sony ones with my W850i before i sent it back and I thought they were great but I would like some opinions from people with personal experience. I'd say £60 is the upper limit of what I am whilling to spend.

Just hit me with any suggestions about what you think are good, i'm open to anything at this stage (within the category specified).

    Thanks in advance.

Shure e2c, or (what I have) Etymotic Research ER-6.
Just make sure you like them before splashing out, they take a bit of getting used to.

how much did pay for them out of interest?

I put the EC2s on at work (thats the ones that guy had! :duh: ) and it felt really weird in my right ear but fine in the left, maybe need smaller buds on th end.

Heh, agreed. Those foam tips can get nasty (I'm less concerned with the rubbery ones).

The E2Cs are a little strange to get in...sometimes I have to wiggle mine a tad for them to feel right. But when they're in right, I tend to not only forget they're in but I can't hear most ambient noises (so avoid if you have a roommate that drinks heavily and comes back late...that can really scare the crap out of you when all the sudden he's behind you).

I've found that, even though I have pretty small ears, I like the medium foam tips the best for them...they seem to cancel noise a bit better. Just something to consider. I can't stand either of the rubber sets; they just don't feel right (and I got this *really* weird feeling that my ear was about to melt, which makes enough sense as the rubber tends to hold in a small amount of heat).

But overall, I'd recommend them. A lot of people say they lack in bass, but I've found it's just right, and very accurate. Most of those people would probably complain that a 2000w sub isn't bassy enough either.

Well, the E2C's are commonly reccomended, but I was chatting with Kameleon a while back and he seemed to think they were tripe in comparison to other in ear's or IEM's of a similar or lesser cost, so it might be worth waiting to see if he adds his opinion.

I love my E2C's for the price. I was not looking to spend over what I did I paid like 70 cdn from my buddy that works at a future shop.
Honestly if I were to loose these headphones they would be replaced with no hesitation.

I have had great success with sony's phantopia or w/e they are called an older plainer style for $40 US but if you get the sony's fold the rubber up so you can see wher eth eplastic meets the rubber and cut a 2-3" strip of electrical tape to width and wrap it tightly they won't come off I have lost 2 from the loose fit without the tape on.

Erm I'm not sure tbh, my dad bought them, didn't like them and gave them to me. I think around £90, but they have dropped in price a bit now.

One thing I've found about them is that they suck when you're walking about-all you can head is your footsteps!

lol i was looking at the sony fontopia (sp?) ones that hook over the ears. As I commute and have to do a fair amount of walking in and around london and my home village I think these maybe the best bang for buck option.

Been using ER-6's for ages now and the sound quality is dead good. Just watch out for the bargain basement quality of the jack itself. Not cool. You can pick em up a lot cheaper these days.

ive have e2c`s. i tried them all their range now inculding the 400quid ones. i would go to the e3c now the step up is enough for the price. the e5c are amazing.

When i listened to the fontopias i thought it was clear and had a real punchy bass as well, maybe I should get them until i think I need better sound quality again? those EC2's just didnt suit my ears (well to be accurate, my right ear).

What do you think of that?

Has anyone got a pair of Ultimate Ears Metro.fi 2?

EDIT: I'll go for EC2's and just sendem back if I dont like them lol I tried them on with the harder clear ends as my mate didnt have any clean black ones :) Im sure it is just getting used to them that I need. Either that or some plastic surgery on my ears, which i'll consider if it is necessary.

Hmm, just wondering if any of you guys have an opinion of the shure e2cs vs sennheiser CX300?
I would get the E2Cs, but they are a lot more expensive...

dragontail, from what I have read the Sure's eat them for dinner and spit them out again. I was reading a review of the CX300's and they said the sound isnt as clear or as punchy as the sure's and alot more background noise is let in. I cant find a click for you but I will keep looking.
