lol, I'm on the forums to much as it is, when I get bb I will have to get a life...
I live in the middle of nowhere (well, right next to Denver, but it is pretty suburban) and we have fiber optic cables EVERYWHERE. Construction is going on everywhere, and all you see are those little flags saying 'Caution, Burried Fiber Optic Cables'. The funny thing is, WE DON'T EVEN HAVE DSL/CABLE HERE!
Japan has 100mbit and sweden has 10mbit(speeds sux though out side sweden)
One of my friends who lives in Stockholm got 100mbit internet.
yes i can agree with you that our peering on 10/100mbit is bad outside sweden, but i dont care, i trade only with sweeds
i'm still on a 56k modem and even this crap is expensive. local phonecalls ain't free here and so it costs money to surf... i don't know how much, which is why my mother bitches at me every time i'm on the internet long.
If I still had ISDN it would cost a hell of a lot more than broadband, just on phone calls. You can get 128k connections for just £15 a month so maybe you can convince your mum it'd be cheaper.
10mbit for almost nothing here... you just have to go to university
/me notes 100 eps of Duck Tales that downloaded from Kazaa..
Try Irish prices:
512k down, 128 up for €107 (£60) per month w/ 3GB per month download allowance.
Now try to say you have a bad deal!
It must be cheeper to use modem if you want to download warez
No mention of warez here
Actually yes.. dialup is cheaper by €1 per month. Which I think is worth the cost considering my ADSL is 'slightly' faster & no missed phone calls (which I actually want now... everytime I play UT2003 someone rings up, its madening)
I got all the Bucky O'Hare Episodes from there before i bought them on video.
there is an isp in Washington State in the us that offers a 100meg link of fiber for $40 a month. no limit on bandwith.
edit: they changed bandwith limit.
Aww, poo. What does anyone use a 100 mbps connection for, other than the stuff listed above
//please, don't enlighten me
It also has a 5 GB bandwith limit, which would not be suitable for that fast of a connection.
I'll wait for a T4, thanks
Wow, they really go all the way, dont they?
I wonder.... how much would a one-way ticket to the US cost (though with all this Al queda and Iraqi business, it might not be a brilliant idea). At least I'm safe in Ireland... who'd want to attack this place... theres more people in london than my entire country for gods sake!
yeah liquid 5mb of web space.. wow, i dont know what i would put in there. i dont think i could ever fill it up
Yeah, my forum picture folder would fill that up several times over
I don't even use my ISP webspace, as they have strict rules as to what you can and can't do with it, grr.
Besides, I only have 60 megs with my ISP
You can get 250mg free... 250free.com they are a bit fill up with to many people signing up but you do get 250 free
