Well, I found my headset didn't work today, aka 10 mins ago. My sis had pulled the green plug off. So I got kinda angry, threw them against a wall, now the headset is in about 15 pieces It WAS a Creative Fatal1ty gaming one, not the USB version. So, I'm now in the market for a new one really. I'm looking to spend up about £50 on it. I've been looking at the Speed-Link MEDUSA 5.1 Vibrating ProGamer Headphones, but if anyone has any other suggestions, that'd be great mars
Pretty sure 50 quid will fit your budget for Steelseries Siberia's. (Dutch site: http://www.hardware.info/nl-NL/prod...lSeries_Siberia_FullSize_Headset_Black_51003/ ) I have used Sennheisers PC-150 before them, and I can say I'm quite pleased. The earbuds completely cover my ears (even if you have "big" ears, they'll probably fit over your ears completely). The sound is allot better than my old PC-150's, and together with my X-FI Extreme Music it's a really good combo. Even if I have gaming sessions of a couple of hours, I don't get annoyed by the headset, which is a really good thing for me. You got em in different colours, but I took the black ones since the white ones will show tearing quite easily (I guess) and pink/red isn't my pick xD Goodluck.
Cheers, I've had a look and it would be pushing the budget, I get paid Weds, but I'll have to see how much I have left after I buy all the materials for my case, bills etc. What about the Plantronics GameCom 367 headset, I've heard some good stuff about them, I may be able to afford the 377 set as well, not sure though.
I love my siberias, got mine in red since they were on sale and very happy, though I've heard the medusa's are great also
I'm pretty sure 3.5 jack plugs > USB headsets by far. Considering USB is slower than the jack plugs (correct me if I'm wrong). I have heard of the brand before, but I never heard of those headphones before. I'm pretty sure you want to stay with non-usb ones. The Steelseries Siberia's have a really nice quality clip-on microphone that you can either clip on your shirt, on anything near you basically, the quality of the mic is excellent and it's very durable. The wire is very thick, which means you won't get any cable-cracks anytime soon. I love em, but that's just my opinion about them. If your budget allows you to, I'd look into the Sennheiser HD555's, I was thinking of getting them aswell but I need a microphone since I use voicecom quite often; ventrilo or teamspeak. Let us know what headphones you're going to buy. BTW: What are you doing to use yours for? Might be good to tell the people so you won't buy an overly expensive one.
Mainly COD4, TS, Skype and music really. I think the USB is to power them, because in the diagram I linked they went to the audio ports as well. But hey ho, I'll have a look at the HD555's, I've got a set of CX-400's for my phone and I <3 them.
my friend had the turtle beach headset for his xbox, and I can actually say they are fairly decent, they had a lot more bass than i thought, but they were a bit cheap feeling
I have the speedlink one and i love them. Its a bit heavy though. It has good volume because if the USB power, i keep it at like 7%. The 5.1 works well too. And c'mon it comes with a cool case.
I was the one who recommended the TB's fyi. Im also in need of a headset, i like the Siberia's in Red, any place i can get them now?
Yeah, cheers for that digi, never did get to thank you. I got my Siberia's from SCAN, white were the only ones they had in stock, so I got them, I didn't see the red ones though
Dont like the White ones, and the Black look too plain. I WANT RED DAMMIT! xD Needs to have 3.5mm's so it can be connected to PS3 and 360 aswell as PC.
Comes with a 2.5mm to 3.5mm? Sweet, still need a USB Soundcard, but theyre a few Quid on the 'Bay. Also still need to find them in Red, are they Limited Edition or something? Bit of a Downer if they are, will make finding the bloody hard
Think you misunderstood me there, goes from the normal jack you'd find on a normal MP3 player, it then goes to the thicker one.
