After a pair of Sony earphones breaking after a single use and another £15 pair being really terrible sound quality I'm opting for just headphones now where I'm hoping spending more money would lead to better sound quality and reliability. My question is what headphones are good though? They don't have to include a mic but rather focus on sound quality and reliability.

Budget can vary, nothing past £30+++ (I don't need superb quality) but I'm willing to stretch budget if the cost is justified by the quality.

Oh and I should have mentioned, it would spend most of the time being used on the move in an iPhone, so no USB outputs please.

I have a pair of Soundmagic PL11's that cost me about £20. The sound quality is very good (quite a lot of bass, but not in a negative/overbearing way) you just have to make sure you pick the right tips to fit your ear to get the right sound, otherwise they can end up quite tinny (as with all in-ear phones).

If you can stretch a bit more, I can highly recommend the Sony MDR ex300's. When I first heard them they blew me away (and still do from time to time) with the overall soundstage and clarity in the bass, mids and high end.

I could hear parts in familiar songs that I'd never heard before. I thought the last (~£30) pair of sony's I had were great but after hearing these I could never go back (Of course it helps if you have high bitrate MP3's encoded with the lame codec).

I've had them for over a year now and they are still in great working order. If you love music then treat yourself.

Which type do you mean? When I do a quick search I get EX300SLB/SL.

    For less than £30?

    I'd get a pair of sennheiser CS-300 II's.

I'm a big fan of Sennheiser but many moons ago I bought soime Sennhesier plugs and they were buggered after a week or so (wires in cord became exposed).

I'm sure this has been fixed by now tbh as like I said, this was a while ago but it left a nasty taste in my mouth.

They were awesome for the time they worked though.

And, having said that, I've only bought Sennheiser since so...

SL and LB are to do with the length of the wires. I can't remember which way round it is but one of them is Y shaped with equal length going to each ear, the other has a short left wire and long right wire that can go round the back of your neck.

If you do get a pair bear in mind they do have a break in period where frequencies will even out and eventually sound much more balanced.

I am also looking for some new iphone headphones.
Been trying to get a bargain, but keep getting stuck.
I prefer to buy off ebay, can't be arsed with walking round town,
i got some Dr. Dre Bass Beats in ears - but they were fake! Sent them back!
I'm now on a shortlist - i need to narrow it down both cost and function.

Ones i use now (and have for last 3 years!) - Great bass and fit: http://www.iosss.com/shopping/review.asp?prod=5823

    Here is my shortlist:

    Quite Expensive but controls: £50ish
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260702040952#ht_1363wt_905

Same Price: don't know about fit £50ish
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180590634681#ht_820wt_1139

Look Good: £50ish sound quality supposedly paltry
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....54&ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT#ht_2905wt_1199

Cheaper, but i've had fakes same model: £15
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....74&ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT#ht_1912wt_1139

    Massive Price: Wishlist Headphones £150+
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATOMIC-FLOYD-...ltDomain_3&hash=item2c593aef1c#ht_3152wt_1139

Or big question - Go with apple pro headphones for iphone 4 - and keep white wire sheep status:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Apple-MA850G-...i_Headphones&hash=item255f4ef3a0#ht_953wt_905
    ----but are they genuine?----

Meelectronics's having a Christmas sale of sorts. Quality is good for those prices. Most recommend the M series. I think the offer for the M11 hasn't come round yet so you could try your luck and wait for it (if it appears that is).

Head direct RE0s are nice but are about USD90.

I'd have to recommend Shure SE210 headphones.(£70-80ish) Amazing sound.
I have a pair of Denon AH-C751's which have slightly weaker bass, but are still very good. Feel more durable as well(because they're milled aluminium).

I have just read about every review on the net for the Klipsch i4s:
I have been semi persuaded unless i can be swayed elsewhere!
So far they look like they have good bass (very important for me - dubstep)
I dont want to spend more than £60GBP because i'm not a DJ or musician.

The only thing between the Klipschs and my paypal balance is this:

    Colour - Black or White

Do they actually work fully with iPhone 4 because the blurb on their site is very 'creatively written'

I mean i want full blown Vol UP/DOWN, Mic, And Single, Double and Triple Press Control Functionality

Can i get a better deal elsewhere?

Sennheisser CX300 II's are the obvious choice.

These are very good, I had a pair before my Soundmagics. There are a lot of fakes going around though so if you do get them make sure you buy them from somewhere reputable.
