Electronics In need of some help building EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) generator

    I need to know how to build an EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) generator. Yes!!! I know these things are really dangerous to computers if built in a large or small scale. I just want to build one and see how it works.

    Well to tell you the truth I am not building it to hurt anyone's computer system if that's what your getting at linear the only reason I would like to know is because I think it would be really fun to build and experiment with one.

    Yes I did try google but came up pretty much empty handed

    okay, then we'll whisk this over to electronics forum.

    I would still recommend that you use google, there's a lot of info. Possibly someone in these boards has built such a thing though. (I haven't.)

    You also know that you can fry your nuts off with this kinda thing, right? I mean it doesn't just hurt computers, it can burn the hell out of you too.

    have you tried www.howstuffworks.com it might not give you a guide on how to build it but it will tell you the principles on which it works so you could figure it out for yourself :)

    Ive done a little reasearch on some of these while I was trying to build a rail/coil gun(i know the diff) but I didnt see too many actual "this is how I did it" sites. Most of them were "well send you plans and a kit for 3 easy payments of $99". Good luck let us know what happenes.
