I just noticed the silver car on the left is also across two spaces OMGZ!

Any idea on the legality of slapping a sticker saying something along the lines of 'your parking sucks' on the windscreen, one which casually leaves a small amount of windscreen wiper proof residue?

Yess, very fair.. If there weren't any spaces left and there were 4 disabled parking spaces for instance it would be fine to nip into the shop and back out in good time. Though there is the issue with him parking across two spaces. He shouldn't even be in one of them, never mind taking up two spaces.

Yes OK dear, calm down :p

Love you but you can be so caught up in the argument sometimes.

I remembered the back end after I posted, i have edited about 3 of my posts today and I can't be bothered anymore! Is being tired at 00:11am a crime?!?!?

Parking in a handicap spot when you don't need it is jerkish. Parking across a line is jerkish. Parking with your back end hanging out is stupid. All three at once is worthy of the ultimate punishment... that's right, being mocked mercilessly on an internet forum.

The problem is that yourself & the bmw driver pictured in this thread have no respect and should be publicly flogged, and posted on youtube of course.

When somebody is handicapped it is harder for them to walk or roll in a wheelchair long distances whereas someone who is not handicapped can walk for kilometres so a few more metres of walking does no harm to the non-handicapped person, it actually does them some good as they get exercise.

Handicapped spaces are also wider than normal spaces to make it easier for them to get in and out as well as easier to get a wheelchair in and out.
Would you prefer that the handicapped person parks next to your car and accidently scratches or dents it because they could not use the space allocated to them that is wider?

You've never seen a wheelchair marathon have you?

I don't understand how people are getting so enraged about this; there are occasions where the spaces are not needed by disabled people so they might as well get used by the few who are there. Plenty of times I've been to Tesco ~3am where all but about 7 of the 300 spaces are taken, and not a single of the disabled spaces was occupied, is it really worth slashing someone's tires if they take on?

My point was that being in a wheelchair does not automatically make you an invalid who can't travel any distance; I know the extra space is needed and the proximity is useful for those who hold a badge due to reduced mobility.

There are many places where the disabled spaces are not needed and if someone else uses them, (although I agree it's inconsiderate) there's not automatically reason to have them flogged or whatever people have been calling for in this thread.

Any person who has money and a fancy car will either park in the middle of no where, or in handicap spots, or take up 2 spots. It really is unfair when you see the older people walking farther out for spaces because some jackass who can walk perfectly fine didn't want to.

Nice to see someone else has a grip on reality. I suppose all the other cretins in this thread are the same people that activate pelican crossings when roads are almost empty :duh:

In belfast they recently introduced bus lanes in the area I live, sadly people abuse it as a car park, the worst thing? the police ignores them.

Seriously, people like that should be forced to watch the car getting crushed into a small cube and have the driving license revoked (same goes for driving when drunk).

you didn't really read what you quoted. If the car park was busy and people needed the disabled spaces then yes, what you are saying applies. But in this case, what you are saying doesn't really apply.

    Hang on, what? :eyebrow:

You are saying if there are other spaces available elsewhere in the car park then you can use the handicapped space if you want even though you are not handicapped, how does that work?

Let's assume the car park is full except for the handicapped spaces and you park in the handicapped space because it isn't being used by someone who is handicapped, what happens when a handicapped person comes along and can't park because you have been selfish and not parked elsewhere (outside the carpark).
You must be psychic and can know when someone who is handicapped will be needing their space.

You expect them to park elsewhere? :eyebrow: :nono:
    That is selfish! :nono:

Maybe we should ignore all the road laws that cause us just a little inconvenience, maybe we should ignore other peoples rights and not show others the respect we expect to be shown because after all it is only the self that counts isn't it? :eyebrow:

not really what Im saying but OK...
I was just making the point that your point didn't apply to the situation in hand. What you said was about a busy car park that had many disabled visitors whereas in this picture the car park is virtually empty with no disabled spaces taken leaving many free. (I don't agree with stradling two lanes though, that dude can't park for cookie)

The only inconsiderate parking I hate is non-disabled people parking in disabled spots. I really want to tow the ****ers car to the nearest lake when I see that kind of parking, even more so when it's an expensive 'luxury' car and you know the ***** driving it is a self important piece of human garbage.

Now I have to quote myself.

So where did I say the car park was busy and with many disable visitors? :eyebrow:
