You are right, the motherboard weighs a tonne with all waterblocks installed, fortunately the motherboard tray is securely attached to the chasis.

More impressive is the total weigh of the case with all the components inside, about 200 kilos.

    It's "thieves resistant" :D

With a bit of delay, here it is a new update, with almost everything finished.

It only remains some details that will be done before the final pics ( with a decent photo camera, not the phone one )

So, let's start with the show!

These are the new antivandalic buttons I've purchased for this mod, made of stainless steel to match the case look. There are three of them, the right one is the Power on button, the one in the middle is the Reset, and the last one on the left is for power on/off the lighting, this way I can choose if I want to have or not the lighting when working with my PC.

And a bunch of random pics with led lighting:

    So much OVERKILL. :eeek:

Are you gonna be using this as the porn industries main server or something?

Seriously though, I love it. Can't think of much else to say.

    Thank you friend.

If I say the truth, I haven't powered it on yet, I hope next month I will be able to use it for the first time

It will be used mainly for folding@home, I could play games on it also, but it's not the main goal of this rig. It's also the media server (movies, tv shows, etc)

Don't be fooled, i will be gaming with this rig, but only when possible, because it will be placed on the living room with a high end sound system and a 3D HD 1080p proyector.

If anyone is viewing a movie or a TV show on the proyector it will be imposible playing games at this time. For this reason, I have a dedicated gaming rig in my bedroom, and when the living room is free, then I have the chance to play with the ultimate gaming system and enjoy gaming on 200" proyector screen until my eyes fall out, or until my wife kicks me out, what happen first.

k but when you do, try not to include so many pictures of the same thing :hehe: Impressive mod, but 4-8 amazing pictures are better than 30 alright ones if your looking for constructive critisism. This is especially true when pictures look similar. Imo people tend to show 6 pictures of a pile of screws when clearly only 1 is needed lol.

Good work on the mod mate, I look forward to the finish results :thumb:

I agree with you, but I was trying to capture how they look with diferent light colours, it would have been better to make a video directly but I didn't have a decent videocam at that moment.

Sorry for the delay, but I was very busy those months, and I just forgot to update my project log with final pics, so here they are:

I purchased some SonarQuest connectors to make custom external cables for both power supplies:

I need some MDPC-X sleeving also for these external cables to fit with the colour scheme of the Mod, but I will do it when I have a bit more free time, because I want to sleeve all the external cables, HDMI, Ethernet, Infiniband, USBs...

Anyway, the Mod is finished and it's functioning faster and quieter than expected.

The total weight is about 150kg, maybe even more. One person alone can't move it. When I need to move it I need help of 2 more people.

I will update this thread with new pics soon, I am updating the hardware now. The mobo died two weeks ago without a clear reason, and now I will split the hardware into two rigs (one cpu & 32gb of ram each) with two P9X79-E WS mobo's. I will also add 4 R9 280x to this rig, or maybe more, depending on which HBA I will install for hdds
