    Hey all,

In 2 weeks I will order my new vid card.. It is going to be the Sapphire ATI X850XT PCI-E. I just need to know the following..

Sapphire ATI X850XT Platinum Edition PCI-X, is not the same as PCI-E right?

    Sapphire ATI Radeon X850 XT/PE Platinum 256MB 2x DVI VIVO PCI-E
    Sapphire ATI Radeon X850 XT/PE Platinum 256MB VIVO PCI-E

What is the difference (other then the 12 euro more for the first one) between these 2? Only the 2x DVI ? And will it be worth the extra 12 euro?

    Should I go for the:

    Sapphire ATI Radeon X850 XT/PE Platinum 256MB 2x DVI VIVO PCI-E
    Sapphire ATI X850XT PCI-E

They have like 80 euro in price-difference but that doesn't matter.. I just want to know which is better.. thnx :thumb:

The difference between X850 XT and X850 XT PE is not massive - there is an X850 XT / XT PE review scheduled for next week if you can hold on that long :)

It sounds as if the cheaper version has DVI and VGA, rather than two DVI ports.

PCI-X is not the same as PCI-E, but as far as i know nobody makes graphics cards for PCI-X, so thats probably just someone being stupid.

The Sapphire X850XT PE spec sheet seems to suggest that all of their XT PEs have dual DVI and VIVO, so the 2 you mentioned above may be exactly the same card...(edit: although it also says VGA...ok im not sure on that  )

And the Platinum Edition (PE) will be 'better' as it has an extra 20mhz core speed and i think 100mhz memory speed. Whether you'll actually notice the difference this makes and whether its worth the extra 80 euros is what you should think about though...

    Hope that helps :)
