Unable to get to sleep one night/morning I went out and took some pics of the sunrise.

Any comments or criticisms are welcome. Shot with Fuji Finepix 6500fd at ISO 100 with a UV filter and CPL.

I like them, but alas the scurge of landscape shots has reeked its havoc. Love the sky, but what about the dark land of the north?

I personally love shots that show both, HDR or filter would have been very nice. I use ND filters to help capture the ground a bit more, and it pays off nicely for the effort.

I like the first one the best. The silloute works there.

3+ is too dark in the foreground. Yes it is hard to get a proper exposure, but you can use graduated filters to get both the sky and the ground close or at the same exposures.

Agreed, the first one is the money shot. The color is excellent and the shilouette of the tree in the foreground really sells it. great work.

#4 is my favorite of the bunch. On my monitor the foreground is slightly detailed. Just enough that needs to be.
    Nice shots there mate!

    Thanks for the comments.

I shot lots and lots of pics, many of them are more exposed but I quite like these dark ones because they seems more... moody and I intended the sun/sky and mist to be the focal point with the landscape more as a frame. Ill have a look and see whether there are any with the landscape better exposed. HDR is out unfortunately because there was the clouds were moving at quite a clip so even two consecutive frames wont line up.
