I have come in possession of an Inspiron 5150 with the now infamous DC jack issue. The LCD panel works fine, and I have decided to use it in a case mod I am planning. However, I do not know the pin out of the connector that clips on the video card. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction on how to find out what it is, or if it is standardized.
    Cheers,
    Jason

I have read if memory serves me...That those Laptop LCd displays are incompatible with a normal graphics card.

Thanks for the info, there is a link to EarthLCD in that thread you linked to.
It seems I will need to buy a controler card from them to get it to work, probably close to 200 USD.

wouldn't it just be cheaper and easier to buy a new lcd with vga/dvi inputs and take that apart?

I remember reading that old graphics cards have a vesa connector (10x2 row of pins or something), which you can connect with a laptop lcd... but its limited to something like 8bit colour depth...

I dont know the pinout but should be easy to search for..
