Linux Installing Darwin in VMWare or Virtual PC

Has any one ever tried to run Darwin on either a physical PC or using VM Ware? While the darwin site says that it is not compatible with VM Ware I keep coming across reports that it can be installed in a a VMWare instance with minimum effort.

however when I triy to install it, it never seems to detect any of my drives on VMWare, VirtualPC, or physical PCs.

Can any one point me to a guide that I could use to install the latest Darwin build on VMWare?
