Help, i running from that Unbunto boot CD and need some help. I can't seem to get IE6 to install. I went to microsoft.com and i downloaded the exe, but when i run it, it gives me an error Is there any way to install it?
You cannot natively install IE in Linux, period. You could try getting Wine, which lets you run Windows apps in Linux, but it could get complicated. http://winehq.org May I also say that it is beyond me why you would want IE in Linux unless absolutely necessary.
Half of the sites i visit alot work like **** in FF. Ill try to get the wine to work, but i know ill be whining my way back here when i cant get it to work.
Who seriously wants to run Internet Exploder? Opera is available for Ubuntu. It's not in the repos, but it's easy to d/l from opera.com & install. You might have better luck with it than FF. .exe files don't work in Linux anyway, and expecting Microsoft to support Linux is akin to expecting pigs to fly...
As it has been said already, you arent going to get Microsoft IE to install on Linux, because they want you to use Windows first off. Have you tried any other browsers and see if they load the page better, such as Netscape(not sure if its on Linux, probaly(sp?) is) or Opera, or Mozilla versions?
