cd drive is first. it is prompting me to boot from it but when i press' any key' it just tells me =! NTLRD is missing. all i can do is turn pc off. 10gb is fully formatted. put in by itsself as master.
The only way you'll ever see an error message about NTLDR not being found is if the PC is trying to boot off a hard drive. Might I inquire as to what Windows installation CD you are using?
If you get the message to "press any key to boot from CD..." Then that is hte boot loader on the CD displaying that message. If you don't press a key in theime, the boot loader ont he CD will automatically load the boot sector from the MBR of the 'first' HD in the system (the first HD in the boot order). Usally, to get the missing NTLDR message, the MBR is messed up. The message is printed by a minimal boot sector on the HD when it fails to find the stuff needed to boot. The easiest fix if the MBR is messed up is to boot the CD to the recovery console and use a command to fic it. I *think* the command is fixmbr.
