Will Intel Dual Core Processors work with the P4P800 Deluxe? If not, what motherboards will?

No, it wont. Only 945x and 955x chipset based motherboards will work with dual core Intel CPUs.

Oh. Should I get a dual core? It looks very tempting, infact my office got a new dual core 3.4ghz Dell custom. Oh how I drooled! Does anyone have it? If so, how does it feel?

Get an Athlon 64 X2 for better performance. Basically, the only benefit is that you get snappier speeds if you run more than one seriously CPU taxing application at the same time, IE buring a DVD and playing Half Life 2, or Encoding Video and Defragging another hard drive.

Is it worth getting an AMD Dual Processor, or a single one for slightly cheaper if I just want to play the latest games ?

A single A64 would be better in your position.

No, DFI did say they would work with the 875 (iirc) based LGA board, but in fact it will not.
The intel dual cores are great for running 2+ simultaneous threads, but tend to be slower and a LOT hotter than the AMD X2, and the single cored A64's.
Unless you're heavily into multi tasking, its probably pointless looking any further than a single cored AMD 64 or a 6 series Intel :)

And since gaming is your business, then the best CPU to get is probably the 3700+ san diego :)

Now to wait until 2006 for AMD to go to ANOTHER variant of socket 940 and release version F of the Athlon 64 and have DDR 2 support... :blah:

Your last time check remains accurate, bindi.
