Alright, guys, I apologize for not starting this thread sooner, however, we have ourselves a nice little chip here! I'm using an i7-4770S in an mITX HTPC/SFF build, and it holds up quite well! Especially considering the fact that this build only runs on less than 150W!! Here are the specs of the build: \Project\ Desktop HTPC: -Intel Haswell i7-4770S -ASRock B85M-ITX -Mushkin Enhanced Stealth DDR3 1600 8GB (2x4GB) dual channel RAM @ 8-8-8-24 -Samsung 470 Series 64GB SSD for Windows + immediate apps -Samsung Pro 840 Series 256GB SSD for storage + 'auxiliary' apps -Lite-On CD/DVD combo drive -Intel HD Graphics 4600 (on CPU) -ASUS Xonar Essence STX PCIe sound card -PicoPSU-150-xt 12V DC-DC ATX power supply -HiFiMAN HE-400 headphones -Acer H274HLBMID Black 27" LED backlit LCD (only 20 watts!) -Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit -Case/Chassis: Rosewill RC-CIX-01 BK Glossy Black Steel Cube Mini-ITX -AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable capture device And a few videos to show off its graphical and performance prowess; remember, less than 150W!: Unigine Valley Benchmark 1.0 - Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Haswell): Metal Gear Rising: Revengence - Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Haswell): Call of Duty: Ghosts - Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Haswell): Feel free to let me know what other benchmarks and gameplay you would like to see!
Nice stuff. I'd like to see how it runs XBMC, obviously it'll be fine but nonetheless interesting. Temperature readings would be good too. Mine is going to be fan less I think, when I get around to it
Awesome, looks like my internet connection is very slow today, too bad I can't see the video. Nice stuff though..
Sounds like an idea! What type of things with XBMC would you like to see? Movies, obviously, but, would you like to see menu browsing, different settings, skins, etc? Please be specific, I have yet to use XBMC. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Demo - Intel HD Graphics 4600: Here's my playthrough of the CLoS2 demo on a lightweight, low-power desktop PC running on Intel HD Graphics 4600 integrated graphics (no video card). This entire build runs on less than 150 watts! Wild sick game! Runs well and fun to play!
Okay, I have to say, I am pretty much blown away at that. The fact that 4600HD can perform that well is not something I would have expected. ...though the fact that Iris Pro is limited to a chip that you would never use without graphics still baffles me.
Integrated graphics truly have come a long way! It sickens me that Intel withheld Iris Pro from us system builders. It absolutely SICKENS me!!
If you've got time, I'd like to see menu browsing with whatever skin takes your fancy. Aeon Nox is still quite hefty even with the most recent optimizations, so that's probably the best case. Music visualizers too.
Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0 (with Tessellation @ 720p) - Intel HD Graphics 4600: I ran this benchmark before on the same Intel HD platform, but at 1080p on low settings without tessellation. Here it is, this time with normal tessellation on medium settings.
Impressive stuff. After looking at many reviews, the A10-7850K's igpu outshines the HD4600 by quite a margin. I can't recall the system wattage, although I think it's higher than 150w.
Very nice, I am looking forward to seeing what Intel's desktop Broadwell CPUs will bring to the table for integrated graphics.
