Entertainment PCs to be jazzed up at IDF? Niiiiiice. ;)

    This from ExtremeTech:

Intel Corp. plans to preview the next generation of the Entertainment PC next week at the Intel Developer Forum, with heavy emphasis on audio fidelity, ExtremeTech has learned. Complete specifications of the next-generation EPC weren't available, although the unit will likely enhance features already found on the first-generation EPC, such as improved support for high-definition video.

Originally announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2004, the EPC was designed for "consumption" of electronic media, primarily recorded video, broadcast video, and music. The device was designed to replace a personal video recorder (PVR), a CD changer, DVD player, digital media adapter, and even an Xbox, according to an an Intel web page devoted to the subject. Early EPCs include the HP z540, which typically use Microsoft's Windows XP Media Center operating system.
