News Intel's Ivy Bridge launch schedule leaked

Intel's revised Ivy Bridge launch schedule has leaked, suggesting a tiered roll-out.

My upgrade addiction tells me I want one of these but my wallet reminds me that my 2500k is more than enough. Can't wait to see how good they are though.

Iv been Holding out on my upgrade for these to either bag a bargin on the i5 2500k or to get a nice shiny new Ivy bridge, All price dependant but summer upgrade is getting nearer!

 

Agreed what the hell with the letter at the end i get the K whch is un locked i think?

Found some of the suffix's

The suffix after the four-digit model number designates unlocked multiplier (K), low-power (S) and ultra-low-power (T).

Also XM and QM are alos mobile.

 

QM and XM prefix refers to quad core (physical) processors, the XM being the "extreme" model as I understand.

 

Now we only need the launch schedule of the IB Xeon E3s and the C21x chipsets.

 

Ok so which ones will be replacing the current 2500-2700k's that's all i really need to know for comparison later. Also this still runs on LGA1155 socket but there is no point in me getting a Z68 board if i am pondering the idea of getting an Ivy bridge processor instead of the current Sandy Bridge, yes? Now wonder the evga z68 Cheesecake boards price is dropping like a rock. I have a big build waiting, I have almost everything except my mobo and cpu just to see if the net gen is worth it. Now i have resorted to case modding due to a surplus of time due to waiting not all bad though! At least the sandy bridge was easy to figure out the numbering for those that were looking to OC the crap out of it. Now im confused AGAIN... They should have just been the 3500-3700k's lol

Yes I am on the same boat!!! and with the nameing… they had it nice and simple and easy to understand!! now they made it all confusing again... damn intel!!!!

 

IB will work in 1155 (holy crap! A new generation of Intel hardware that doesn't require a new socket!)

I'll take a stab in the dark and guess that most everyone here will want the i5-3570K or i7-3770K (wait, only two that are unlocked?)...just look for the K, if you want to overclock it.

Yes, that must be it... or the fact that everyone with a fab has realized this 22nm process isn't working out as they expected and validation has been a nightmare.

Yes, enjoy it while it lasts... and enjoy it only if you have certain chipsets. The next gen will require another socket.

 

I'm waiting for IB and the new chipsets before upgrading from my Q6600. It has served me well but it's time to put this old girl down

But equally interesting is the fact that Panther Point-based mobos will also support SB.

 

Considering it's 5 years old and still plays BF3 with better than decent frame rates, I'd say it's still pretty epic

 

I'll build my first HTPC when the Ivy Bridge Core i3 is released. Hopefully it will be early in third quarter.
