    From the Inq:

DELL APPEARS to be charging through the nose for the Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition – or it will be when it starts shipping the boxes that use it.

A reader notices that if you use the Dell online site to configure two PCs identically, one with a 3.20GHz Pentium 4 and the other with a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 EE, the one with the newer chip costs a staggering $1,400 more.

    More here

:eeek: So just how much faster is your P4EE going to be over a straight P4 of similar clock speed? $1,400 faster? I don't think so.

I wonder if the FX53 will have a similar stratospheric sticker price...

Thinking about that some more, if you consider that the standard P4 3.2 GHZ HT have just fallen to $417 each per 1000, and you give Dell the benefit of the doubt and assume they are selling them on at cost :eyebrow: (highly unlikely I know)...

...This means that Dell are charging at least $1817 for just the P4 3.2GHZ HTEE :eeek: :eeek: :eeek:
