Just bought some RF controlled mains sockets.
What I want to do is control these ideally from my USB port.

My original plan was just to somehow bodge it to the 6 outputs on my matrix orbital lcd as there are 6 outputs on there.

But I don't really know how I would go about doing this.

    Any suggestions on this?

As besides being able to solder a few things together im pretty useless when it comes to developing electronic circuits

Buy or make some opto isolators, replace the switches with the LDR side and connect the LED side to the MO I/Os

and/or some solid state DPDT relays then you can control all of the switches states... failing that a matrix of optoisolators could work... as they only need to be momentary contacted..
