Im using the Blackgold3620 as we speak.

Freeview dvbt2 tuner, Not sure it will fall into your $100 budget though.

Mine was £105, expensive, but it is dvbt2.

Not many hdtv freeview channels as yet though, but im ready when they do.

If you were after a satelite version, then i doubt your budget will suit.

I believe you also use PAL not the naff NTSC format, so the one i use would possibly work?
I suspect the hd channels will be universal resolution though?)

well atleast you can now look into it.

EDIt, looks like it does ntsc aswell.

    info here.

as far as i can tell it doesnt support DVB-T2 which is required for HD channels

all it says is supports HD where available but makes no mention of DVB-T2 support + ive never heard of that card so makes me skeptical straight away

He's not in the UK so probably doesn't need T2.

    DVB-T2 is not analog

Digital Video Broadcasting - Terrestrial and the 2 is for 2nd generation supporting HD channels

AUS use the same system as the EU although im not sure if they have implemented T2 as T can broadcast HD too but T2 is better.

im not saying the websites dodgy just that id email the manufacturer first as the description on the site you linked is lifted straight from the manufacturer one anyway.

tried to find some reviews but couldnt find any serious ones so for me that would count me out.

Not all countries send their HD stuff over DVB-T2. Some use standard DVB

that's true, most use DVB-S2, but UK and some other countries already use DVB-T2, DVB-T2 is the trend
