I would like to get bluetooth and infrared on my pc but I can't find any internal ones and I hate using usb for stuff like that (which i will never take out etc).

My mobo has an IR pin header but i can't find the infrared that plugs into it, do you know where to get them from?

same deal with bluetooth are there any internal cards you can get or is it a case of making 2 internal usb ports?

You could simply get one of these USB PCI cards with internet USB, so that you can plug in a USB dongle inside your computer. This is what I am planning to do with my new computer.

Not sure about infrared, but you can get a PCMCIA bluetooth card and slot this into a PCI PCMCIA adaptor, which will make your bluetooth "internal"

I've never seen an infra-red system with a motherboard header on it, I'm not sure they've ever really surfaced.

I suppose a pci usb card with 2 internal and a bit of case modding will do the trick.

I used to have a mobo with an IR header. I think I got an IR dongle that used it made by Actisys. But I do remember that it was for syncing with phones/laptops/PDAs only, it wouldn't work with home cinema gear at all.

A forum member here knows a lot about IR and used to make and sell IR recievers, Meblin I think the name was. You could ask him.
