They need to get ontot he bloody Disney channel and stop them from showing shows about bloody 11 yr olds going on dates

or what about Xfactor and the like where all the women dress up ridiculously or justin Beiber with 10yr olds saying how fit he is (they shouldn't know what fit is)

or Lady ****ing GAGA singing Bad romance then my 12 year old sister humming away to it

what about the hundreds of shitty womens mags with 'Im having XXX's baby plastered on the front every week

everything nowadays has a double entendre and it makes me sick

there is an enormous difference between sexual education and throwing it in every bodies face to make some money

if you have seen the recent south park episode they make a joke of it but have a very strong argument

I'd still prefer children watching that than viewing someone's head being smashed open with a brick or a young woman's head being cut off with a knife by some extremists that the proposed filter would still allow through.

Not that I support any form of filter it's a parents job to monitor their child and if they can't be bothered to do that why did they have them in the first place.

I've yet to meet someone over here who hasn't categorized children as a "Secondary effect", appart from a few ones.

I understand your point. Some porn is like you describe. But not all of it. And regardless it all involves things you shouldn't rightly see before your first sexual encounter. Cock, ***** and all the joy that is found there-in should remain something you discover when you are a teen and not before.

However, this is a part of the job that falls to each and every parent. It is NOT the job of a government or any other official body. Also while some parents may be very good at blocking this stuff, even if it became difficult to see online kids will ALWAYS find a way. My mum was good at stopping me from seeing 15/18 rated films and porn. Did this stop me seeing them? hahahaaha Noooooooo. I found a way as will anyone, and it was far harder before the internet was in every home. All you can do is guard agaisnt it. Trying to ultimately prevent it is like trying to stop it raining.

thats actually a really good point. at least in porn it depicts adults in the situations, whereas tv shows on the disney channel show children going into situations they dont need to know about til they hit puberty.

Hmm, if the UK government blocks porn, millions of geeks will have to actually start talking to girls to get any. ;P

This is more serious than we ever imagined, our infrastructure is not geared to handle that kind of pressure. Bars, disco's and cafeteria's are going to be overrun, the world as we know it will end.

We geeks have been trained by Bill Gates himself...To break all limits, and to break our own if we must...To be stopped by a simple government measure will be an insult to the honor of being a geek. WE SHALL NOT BACK OFF. WE WILL BREAK APART AND HACK OUR WAY FORWARD

When will the governments of the world realise that filtering the internet just is not possible.

Way too difficult to implement and even if they do someone will find a way around it in the first 24 hours.

Of course their would be ways around it, in the dial-up days of the net god help you if you typed lolita into any search engine because c.p. was everywhere.

Their blocking this so they could block the regular stuff.

Asking the mrs if she can ring up to get porn enabled...could get you a night on the sofa!

Couldn't agree more, it's up to the parents/guardians to police their kids, not the government. There is some horrible stuff out there that is downright repulsive, but censoring it would be infringing on freedom of expression, so long as it doesn't involve anything illegal.

And yes, kids will always find a way to do what they want, whether it be looking at porn or evening having sex (whole different can of worms). The best thing (and most responsible IMO) is to cut the abstinence crap and teach kids about safe sex and provide good examples for them to follow.

Like others have said however that hiding the fact that sex exists from kids is near on impossible.

Anyway the point i was trying to make was that its the same with the violent video game argument, kids that play them are then going to go out on a massive killing spree, or rather not.

Just because they have found the joys of porn doesn't mean they are then going to go and impregnate the nearest female.
Their parents need to be raising their children to understand and gain the respect that sex should have.

I have played nearly every violent game in existance and guess what, I'm the most pacific man you're ever gonna meet over here.
Violence is already programmed into one's mind before even being born, before having a computer I nearly broke someone's skull with a rock(seriously, he was bleeding like sh*t) and now I don't even insult people, no matter what they do.
What's more, I have an air compressed rifle (okay this is derailing...) and it's rusting.

Don't you think the first thing they'd close off would be the source of all the prons ever (which is obviously your hard-drive)?

Oh you shouldn't try to hide the fact sex exists. Parents just need to educate their children better. As do the schools.

Your right watching porn won't make you go out and do it. Same as violent 18 rated games won't make you a killer. But parents should have better control of their home PC's as certain things rob a child (under a certain age) of their innocence. Regardless though, it's not something in which the government should get involved. They are already too quick to tell us how to live our lives.
