Hi, I've been waiting for the Ion powered netbooks to appear for a while now. There still appears to be no sign of them. Maybe I'm missing something. Does anyone have any info on them? Is anyone planning to purchase one? Thanks
I have actually seen that one which makes my initial post sound silly. I don't really want to purchase the first one that comes along. Plus purchasing something with xp installed is hardly reflects the new tech inside. So really I guess I'm asking when are other brands of netbooks appearing? Preferably with windows 7 and more RAM.
I was of course talking about googleing products, now I regret trying to help you. First of all you now admit that your first post sounds silly as you state that "I've been waiting for the Ion powered netbooks to appear for a while now. There still appears to be no sign of them.", and when I direct to you an etailer that has one in stock you now say you have seen that one. And then you get a little pedantic concerning google results. I now have yet another member added to my ignore list.
To start with, you were better off just saying, has anyone seen any other ION Netbooks besides the one mentioned. Secondly, new technology? that technology is years old and to top it off windows 7 will give you no great advantage over xp on a machine like that. If you want more RAM then it'll probably be between £20 and £40 which isn't exactly steep. Next time even if you don't really want to do your own searching(which is advised, even if you still make a thread for help) then don't go picking at what people are saying to you since they're trying to help you, it will get their backs up.
I think theres a bit of mis understanding going on here. By "I don't want to buy the first one that comes along", I think he meant, the first Ion netbook, no just the first one someone posted. I can't see that he's done anything to offend anyone, and he has obviously done some searching as he's seen one, and he's laid out some requirements for what he'd like. Ok, it could have been worded a bit better, but we're not all grammar nazis, give him a break. *EDIT* wait, I see the bit your talking about, the link to ionnetbook.com, yeah that was a bit cheeky.
Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone or get anyone's back up. I have searched the web, and was really looking for a different perspective. I was given money for a laptop last August for my birthday. I was advised to hold out for an ion netbook. I posted as they don't appear to be mainstream as say commonly available netbooks such as the sumsung NC10.
Lenovo S12 has an Nvidia ION option. Priced about £380. Thats the only other netbook I know of apart from the HP above that has ION.
