ipconfig woes... FIXED

    Hi Guys

    l've got a problem with a Dell Dimension 4600 with an Intel Pro/100VE lan. Win XP Home

    l'm getting an error msg about limited or no connectivity. l try to repair the connection but l'm told that the PC can't renew its ip addy. Typing ipconfig /renew give an error msg about not being able to do so..

    Help !!!

    Are you using a router or connecting directly to a dsl/cable modem?

    If you are connecting to a router, you may need to power cycle your router.

    If you are connecting to a modem, then it may be an issue with your ISP.

    If you give us more info, we may be able to give you more precious help.

    sounds like your routers dhcp isnt on? (assuming you have one)
    either turn it on or set the ip manually

    I've seen a few Intel network adapters that have refused to obtain an IP since a windows update a couple of months back, try downloading the latest drivers from Intel's website.

    You could also try a different adapter.
