We shouldn't have to answer this question for you. All you need to do is go to the O2 website and try adding a Simplicity contract to the basket. It asks if you want to pay extra for unlimited internet access.

Actually, I believe even iPhones on PAYG get free mobile internet, so it's probably worth going into the shop to talk to them about it. You'll probably end up with more free internet.
However, you may end up tied into your iPhone contract anyway, so you may as well keep that TBH.

Yup iv got the free Internet n I asked in store and they said I couldn't keep it if I move to simplicity which seems alittle harsh.

if you went to the £19.58 a month simplicity tarif it allows you to select what free bolt on you would like and this can be the free web. for tarrffs less than this you could buy the web bolt on for £7.34. but then you'd be paying at least £17.13 for a lot less minutes.

Apparently I cannot do that because web pages are bigger on iPhone so it doesn't qaulify.

bulls**t! Sorry but if you're on Simplicity then you're "renting" the SIM only and as far as O2 is concerned it doesn't matter what phone you have the SIM in. Could be an iPhone or a giant Motorola brick from 2001, the SIM is completely separate from the phone. (The latter would be useless for mobile web obviously, but you get the idea!)

My phone, for example, is a HTC Touch HD on O2, but bought via Mobiles.co.uk (Carphone Warehouse effectively) which results in an unlocked Touch HD and a contract SIM with unlimited data. As far as O2's network is concerned, the two are completely un-related as shown by that fact that I had to phone customer services once and when they asked for my phone model, they didn't have it on their system. You still can't buy this phone direct from O2. Doesn't cause any problems, I don't get letters/calls saying that "the web pages are bigger" despite my phone's screen being larger than the iPhone's and higher resolution...

(not bullsh**t at you btw, but at the person that told you that (mis)information)

I must have pressed clocks when I put it in as this morning when I woke up, 8 hours later, and unlocked the phone clocks was the first thing to show up on screen. Does that mean that the internet was connected all night or does it disconnect when it locks?

o2 have specific requirements for iphone, not sure why. maybe iphone users are on a sucker list.

my wife uses my old iphone 3g, with no data, she just connects to internet via wireless, at home, or my iphone 4 when out and about with me, if i turn it on that is, lol

I got to laugh a few years ago i was on o2, and having had enough of the crappy phone id selected upon upgrade i bought an.iphone, the they tried to get me to.change to an.iphone tariff when.i.called for settings etc i said no as id get less minutes/texts. So they gave me the settings anew i stayed on a none iphone tariff, everything worked fine, in the end it was the crappy phone that bugged me more
