Hi the other day i finished my new build and did a new install of win7 got all my stuff up running installed itunes synced my phone & i thought i was away untill i installed a test update (KB970419) now when i plug my iphone it thinks it's a camera. It's somthing to do with the autorun is now autoplay so i went back to the updates & it wont let me uninstall it ive tried everything i can think of but still no joy. Any help or feedback on this problem would be cool. Thanks
try uninstall iTunes and any Apple related stuff (i think there's a Apple Devices) and re-install iTunes. usually, this only happens on a machine without iTunes installed, meaning it doesn't have proper drivers for the iphone
I'm pretty sure that's going to keep happening. It's been the case for me since Vista, and doesn't show any signs of changing. It's most certainly not down to drivers, though, so no amount of removing/reinstalling Apple stuff is going to make much difference. I expect it's down to the fact that Apple don't let OS's access it as an external storage device, except for the camera roll, which leads 'dows to think it is simply a camera. That's my theory anyway.
i thought that's always been the case. you have to launch iTunes to be able to see "iphone" on the left menu and sync. what exactly is OP's problem? not able to sync? or expecting to be able to explore the device's root directory?
