Looks like Apple have really done it with the SDK so far, it seems like there's going to be some really wicked apps coming out with all the features and what not! Can't wait for the first apps to show up and install them.

    EDIT:

    Yeah man, loving this!

"10:42AM - "Next we decided, what can we do in two weeks? So we wrote a game... Touch Fighter." Dang, not bad, it's 3D, OpenGL... tap anywhere to fire, steer with the accelerometer. Lots of loud "Whoa!"-ing from the audience and applause."

Fair play to Apple for getting all this stuff sorted, you can't say that they're not releasing the apps up for everyone to play with! The 3-axis accelerometer looks good, if it's anything as clever as the Wii one we'll be in for some great apps. :D

Gonna download the SDK when Apple's site sorts itself out and have a play around- seems like a good place to start making some creative software if anything, what with all the hardware niceties on offer.

On the one hand it's nice that it's all locked down as it means you don't have to scour the web for programs like you do in WinMo. On the other hand, I'm worried that developers are gonna concentrate too much on the iPhone instead of other devices as it's a good way to make a quick buck. There's nothing wrong with that, but I'd like to see a bit more competition in the marketplace and atm the iPhone's taking all the spotlight in all arenas- including gaming now it seems.

I'm quite excited about this... I've got the SDK downloading now (slow as heck though, as Apple's servers are currently being raped) and plan to check out all the intro videos soon.

Now I just need an app worth building :/

It's Leopard only actually. But considering it's a mobile version of OS X, it's not exactly surprising (no more so than Visual Studio not having a Mac port).

I thought the iPhone simulater looked like a really good idea and how you can connect your iPhone and try out your apps, though as I'm not a programming i don't know if there is any value I'm sure there is though!

I think they said that the SDK is easy enough that almost anyone can use it
