Hi, I own a iPod 20GB , 3gen I think; its one with non-click wheel. And I also have a digital camere (Sony Cybershot P120). Now I was always intrested in the Belkin Media adapter, but it was just too expensive for me. But now apple has a "iPod Camera Connector" wich allows you to connect the usb cable of your digital camere to the iPod to transfer the pictures. But the iPod Camera Connector only works with the iPod Photo. And I don't get why... I dont want to look at my pictures with my iPod, I just want to store them as you can do with the Belkin Media adapter thing. Does anybody know if the iPod Camera connector might work with normal iPod's, or if there is some kind of other firmwara available, because the iPod Camera connector would be such a terrific adition to my setup. Thanks L
maplin sell a device like what you're after i think it's called USB2GO... have a look... it's decent..
hmm I looked on maplin.co.uk for usb2go, but couldn't find anything with that name. when I looked for iPod I found a few accesoires for the iPod, like the Belkin Media Reader. But nothing else.. I'm looking for something that will allow me to either connect my digital camera to the ipod so I can copy the pictures on the camera to the iPod. Or a device that allows me to put a memorystick in it and copy that to the iPod. So we have the Belkin Media Reader with reads most memory cards. But its too expensive for my taste. Then there is also the iPod Camera Connector wich is perfect, but it only works with the iPod photo. Thanks L
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...6pD0D/1.0.0.11.1.0.6.9.3.19.0.1.1.1.1.1.1.0.3 This Belkin connector works with all iPods with a dock connector. Apple sells two different connectors, this Belkin one and one that only works with the iPod photo.
Hi Thanks very much, I didn't knew this product existed. My local shops don't carry it (ones that sell other belkin products) but the belgian apple store, does. I could not find a list with compatible camera's, but the site sed that your camera should have PTP (picture transfer protocol) and DCF (some standard picture format, I believe). And according to Sony, my P120 has bouth. So I think I should be fine. So the belkin "camera link" seems to be a good answer for my problem. I just think it pretty big and very expensive. It does the same as the ipod photo connector, only its bigger and costs 3 times as much and it requires extra battery's. I will seriously consider buying this, but 100euro's is a bit expensive for my student blood. Thanks very much for pointing out this product to me. L
