Dont we already have one Nexxo's Law relating to the likely hood of image macros and the length of a thread?
Oh? How come "Italia" became "Italy?" And "Norge" Became "Norway" "Sverige" became "Sweden" The worst must be "Deutschland" which became "Germany". (OK, this one is probably from the middle ages, though.) It seems like the translation starts out well, but it cinda' deteriorate at the end...
Conveniently located on his backside for all the people who are currently kissing it. Yes. iPod not ePod.
Pfft, Exeter has the most "non accent" bunch of people in the whole of the UK imo. No one has an accent down here. Cornwall is totally different though, but it's only down the road.
eyePod, tbfh. I can see the point you're trying to make, but it's silly I have, however, heard of people pronouncing it eeePod. But that was through a colleague of mine who's French and was talking of his cousins last Christmas all asking for eeePods. I guess they have an excuse as the letter 'i' in French is pronounced as us Brits pronounce 'e'. Actually no, it's not an excuse, they're just wrong.
Not saying you should say it that way, I'm trying to point out that words normally starting with "I" normally start with an E, like Italy.
And I'm pointing out that if you are saying "eee-taly" - then your English accent sucks. It might be native, but it's screwing up the language. The idea that anyone who pronounces things like Italy, Iraq, Iran, with a double ee sound at the beginning has the most "non-accented" voice in the UK is silly
Err I'm not saying eee-taly, lmao. I have no accent, nothing what so ever, everyone I know doesn't say "I" or really a pure "E", I would say between Ih and E tbh. NO ONE says "Ih-raq" either, try and say that, lol.
Everyone has an accent. The people around you all have the same accent so you don't notice it with each other. Talk to someone from another area or country and they could say that they had no accent but you did.
Kind of like the way the English accent is void of any variation across the country. And haven't you heard? All Oriental people look the same. This thread is kind of ridiculous. Your first mistake (well, OK, the second mistake after trusting YouTube) is assuming "Americans" all speak the same. I personally know many Americans that pronounce it as "ih-rah-q." On the other hand, I know just as many Americans that pronounce is as "eye-rack." I doubt it has anything to do with global awareness, but more to do with regional accent. -monkey
Kinda like how every American think the English have a posh voice and drink tea all day? Not assuming anything, but every American I have heard say Iraq has said it with a strong I.
