The 40gig is actually the same price as the old 40gig was. It can display album art for each song IIRC. Might be useful for photographers w/ the memory card accessory.

man, that looks pretty funky, apart from the whole u2 related things, but the front looks cool

 

I would prefer a black wheel. That image probably doesn't do the real thing justice. That image looks photoshopped?

God... just get a PDA... sure it doesn't have 40GB of memory, but it has a 320x240 display (some even have 480x640 displays now..) and MANY more features than an ipod..

Personally I think 500 dollars for an mp3 player & a wannabee mobile album viewer is steep, my PDA with a GB of storage (SD memory card..) costed 300 dollars, so HAH.. it does everything the ipod does and so much more.

 

The difference is 1GB vs. 60GB. PDA's don't have built-in hard drives (or at least not that big). I have a lot more than a gig of music and pictures will take up even more space.

 

now maybe if they added a digital camara to the new iPod photo i might consider it, but no way in hell am i going to pay that much more just so i can look at pretty pictures while i listen to music on the go, but put a DigiCam in there then it gets rid of something i carry in addition

 

Be nice if Creative got there first with the camera idea, they used to dictate the MP3 player market imo until Apple released that darn iPod and people began to buy them. Now all Creative can do is try and keep up...
