Harry Truman, I'm pretty sure. The OSS was disanded in 45 or 46 and the CIA came into existance in 49 or 50. The intelligence side of the operation is fine, even necessary, but presidents have used the operations side to try to accomplish things under the table they could not get away in public. The CIA is an instrument of national policy just as the military is, and keep in mind who sets that policy...
So the CIA are El Prez's private enterprise army/organization..... Great, they have instigated so many wars round the world no wonder everyone hates them.
Iran sure do know how to play the game, and well. This not only shows the world that both sides are being as petty as each other in the labelling of terrorists (as opposed to the notion that the US might be on the level and Iran might be run by filthy terrorists) - but it's also pretty accurate. There's far more evidence that the CIA are a terrorist organisation than that Iran are. I think the only thing the US has on the Rev. Guard is that they're doing now what the US did in afghanistan in the 80's.
You fail to see the salient point: they can actually make a very good case for it too. If anything, Iran is simply saying: "Pot, kettle" to the US government.
QFT. Though I think in this case, one of the cooking tools is only a dirty gray - it's just a matter of which metaphor represents which country.
