Thanks bro, I have over 200 hrs into this project, maybe more, most of the time is in sanding and paint.

    Helm Construction

Iron Man is sponsored by Thermaltake and MNPCTECH

With only a few day left to finish the project by deadline,Im gonna get the helm constructed and mounted to the front bezel.

I started by making a paper template and cutting out all the pieces and transferring them to 00.80 polystyrene.

I secured all the pieces using weld-on adhesive.

Modelers putty is added and finish sanding is completed.

I also modded behind the mask too.

I secured the helm using rivets to the front bezel. The helm will open on a hinge system with a compression spring.

    Time for paint and primer..
First I layed down 2 coats of black primer, sanded then added redmetal flack over the entire helm.
Next, I sprayed a flat aluminum, followed by gold.

Gold is added over the top of flat aluminum and the masking is removed.

Now Ill start on the painting and graphics behind the helm.

Im using gunmetal, flatblack and flat aluminum to achieve a metal finish on the helms interior body.

    Some battle fatigue added.

With the helm nearly complete, Ill mount it and add the LEDs.

Here I added a Stark Industries vinyl graphic to the front bezel.

With the helm mounted and the LEDs installed its time to bring Iron Man alive.

8 LEDs are mounted behind the lens, and powered by a 12v molex pin.

Just a few logos and details to finish up and is Iron Man Complete.

    Final pics coming soon

    Stay Inspired and Keep Creating!
