Does the problem go away when you try your old card again? Are they both PCI/AGP/PCI-E or what? Also, go into your device manager and look for resource conflicts. They are noticable by "Bangs" (a "!" in a yellow yeild sign). You may have to remove the device driver for your old card before you add the device driver for the new one. It shouldn't happen like that, but I have seen stranger things EDIT: oh, so yeah, i would pull everything out, turn it on and see if there is a problem, then add another and another etc. But it looks like you should be able to just try swaping/installing your video card and drivers. Also, go to the manufacturers website and see if they have a new driver.
did you completely remove the old drivers as well as the phisical card? You should have done the upgrade like this... uninstall the drivers with add remove progs (also worth using a tool to scan for any remnants of the driver at this point) remove the device from device manager switch off remove the card and replace with new one switch on install the card as a standard VGA adapter reboot update the drivers for the correct ones
both cards are pci-e the only thing i did not do with the upgrade is remove the device from divice manager i just reformated so that would have fixed any of those diver problem ill let u know, its installing windows right now EDIT: no "bangs" that i can see ill look into it futher
how did you check for bangs if you are still installing? Did you look for new drivers on thier web site?
the only other new ones are the bedas reinstalling did nothing to the IRQ's or anything. later im going to try to load up a game, and see if does the same thing should i do i BIOS update?
20 min max for what? and: i have an idear for yall how bout i just jumper the cmos so it loose all data and re do the irq's????
java. stop pushing the irq probelm, its not it. but if your old pci-e card works and your new one doesnt, i think the new card is fubard.
i dont think so....................... so.....................i.............................................
Answer all the questions. 1. Is it stable and have you looked at the error log? 2. What happened when you installed and played your game? 3. Have you updated all your drivers? 4. Have you tried your old graphics card? 5. Have you tried resetting your cmos? Windows at the time of your post can only have been running for 20min.
Javaboy, I have had to edit a post in this thread for swearing, furthermore I am somewhat tired of reading un-necessary and pointless 'bump' posts as little as 7 minutes from your last reply. I realise you want people to help you, but this is somewhat excessive. It is also helpful if you explain your problem thoroughly in your initial post, rather than letting people know facts in dribs and drabs which makes any potential diagnoses much more difficult. No more swearing or posts bumping the page to the top of the forum, okay?
Id be investing my time looking at buying a new keyboard, your shift, . and 1 keys must be knackered.
