PSU is 530watt enough

    ok well im building a i5 gamming rig and once its built its built...

    im using a core i5 750 with a evga p55 LE and a hd 5850 which has a recomeded 500watt psu would a 530 b enough to run that and som fans with a cpu cooler and fan controller?

    or should i up grade to a 600-700watt

    A decent brand 500w would be fine.

    What brand is the 530?

    Corsair HX520W is highly recommended. I'm using one now and it's rock solid.

    I seriously wouldnt want a i5 or a i7 build with some crappy psu in it.

    For office builds it makes not alot of difference but for gaming machines I wouldnt risk it.

    Hmmm, I don't trust brands like that - I mean I ran an EZCool 550W for almost a year no problem, though if I had the choice I wouldn't touch it with a rotten twig, aslong as you don't go over say 60% load, cheapo PSUs are fine, but exceed your 60 limit and it'll blow up in no time taking your rig with you
