ok well im building a i5 gamming rig and once its built its built... im using a core i5 750 with a evga p55 LE and a hd 5850 which has a recomeded 500watt psu would a 530 b enough to run that and som fans with a cpu cooler and fan controller? or should i up grade to a 600-700watt
Ohhhh Raidmax PSU's are dodgy. It may be fine if you run all stock speeds. A 500w+ Unit of a higher quality would be fine. Still i would not buy it if i was you and go for a quality unit to power your quality hardware.. EDIT: just seen this. ENERMAX Liberty ELT620AWT 620W $69.99.... bloody bargain. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...4004&cm_re=enermax_psu-_-17-194-004-_-Product
I seriously wouldnt want a i5 or a i7 build with some crappy psu in it. For office builds it makes not alot of difference but for gaming machines I wouldnt risk it.
Hmmm, I don't trust brands like that - I mean I ran an EZCool 550W for almost a year no problem, though if I had the choice I wouldn't touch it with a rotten twig, aslong as you don't go over say 60% load, cheapo PSUs are fine, but exceed your 60 limit and it'll blow up in no time taking your rig with you
