    Spoof hardware review site?

A site that focuses purely on the most trivial aspects of computer hardware.

Wait... You can post reviews here? I write reviews quite often and post them on others forums :p
I want to be a reviewer later!

The forum isn't going anywhere. But as the sun has come out for a bit, I predict a slightly quieter time until the nights draw in a bit. Same happens on here (and other forums) as soon as the summer hits...

well I hope that the site can somehow get a revival it's a big shame and I think the forums are not as active as they have been in the past :/. I normally don't post myself but tend to read alot of them.

since the site is pretty dead any of you know of a good alternative?

It's not dying, forum is alive and well just some of the old breed has slowed down with posting on here. I don't really look and anything else here apart from the forum.

I don't see the problem. Have you seen all the other PC forums die? PCApex, Modder's-Inc, WizDforums, Gruntville, creativemods, etc

    I forgot Casemodgod

The question posed by the OP was "is bit tech dying?"

The forums are maintained by members, by and large - mods are members after all. It seemed pretty clear the concerns were to do with site content, or lack thereof. The forums do get affected of course - intrusive advertising and server issues spring to mind.

Who cares? I only come here for the forums anyway. I think site news is only occationally worth reading. Not your guys fault, I just prefer the interaction with other nerds, not NEWS

    ^this^

About the only reason for me to be concerned is that from my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong),
The forums are part + parcel with the actual site. Hence why I tolerate the ads.

Most of those are blocked spam accounts I'm afraid. The real membership I estimate more around 25,000 with some of those accounts dormant/abandoned. We probably have about 15,000 active members.

A knack, like selling a self help book to people who think they will get rich simply by reading a book on how to get rich..... *cough* :worried:

I sure hope Bit-tech isn't dying, otherwise where would I go to interact with fellow nerds?

With regard to the news site, the news on it is still pretty good, it's my main source of computing news. (through the article discussions sub forum of course)

I love the way that you all assume that FD is literally sitting there stealing all your internets.

If he hasn't bought the site someone else would have and it would have gone the same way. We're just too stingy a market for such a big expensive site unfortunately.

Bit-tech is not dying as far as I can see, and there are plenty of cool lads sitting here making good sensible entertaining posts every day.

However I think the Demote thread has a bad case of "try-to-make-sense-of-the-demote-thread-though-small-essays cancer" which I think needs some help. Find more demotes!

That's not quite true, Dennis was the only feasible buyer (and in 2008 things were a bit different!) and if Dennis didn't exist then instead the company would probably have been wound down instead
