    Hi,
Ive been working like a dog lately so i thought i would treat myself to a new gpu, im thinking of getting a gtx780 but is it too much for 1080p gaming? Would a 770 max all games at 1080p?
    Cheers.

I'm maxing bf4 on ultra with a factory overclocked 670 so I think a 780 would be overkill.

I think a 770 hits the mark but a 780 would definitely give you that feel good feeling :).

Depends where your headed gaming wise.

Cry engine games like Crysis 3 for example are pushing gpus hard at the highest of settings. if you must have 60fps min like I would 1 780 is bearly enough on certain levels and would require the reducing of something, Most likely AF to 8x.

Im expecting watch dogs to run pretty poorly on pc hardware as it will be likely badly coded.

I decided on a 770 for 1080 as we're likely to see some larger improvements by skipping a generation. I haven't found anything that kills it yet, as long as you're happy with FXAA and suchlike.

    I'm maxing BF4 with a GTX 480 Lightning :D

I'd get a 780 though. For the vram if anything.

Yes, a GTX 770 would be more than enough for 1080p or even head over to AMD and pick up a R9 290. There's some going in the market place here cheap! ;)

I doubt that, as porting is supposed to be easier, so I'd imagine Watch Dogs to run no different to Splinter Cell Blacklist and the likes... ;)

Oh, why would you turn down AF to 8x? Turning Shadows down to High wouldn't impact the quality of the game that much compared to dropping AF.

Oh, and once DirectX 12 is out, then games will become less power hungry to run.
Well this is the answer to the Xbox One to help it make games run at 1080p native with the DirectX 12 patch.

EDIT: And as for adding a link to a game that was running on Drivers from over a year ago, does not give a good indication to real performance. ;)

As already said, depends what your playing, I play Skyrim with an ENB mod which are notorious frame killers, to run an ENB plus HD texture packs and around 50 other mods and get 60fps I had to get a 780, but personally I don't like playing at less than 60fps.

The modded game also regularly uses 2.5Gb of vram and I only game at 1080 as that's my monitors max, to play at a higher resolution and maintain 60fps I would probably need another 780 which ain't going to happen so 1080 for me is fine and with all the mods Skyrim looks great, let's not forget it's the gameplay that really matters, to me a good game maxed out at 1080 is much better than a crap game at higher resolutions.

I have SLI GTX 760s and Metro Last Light tests it at 1080p as does Crysis 3 as mentioned with everything on Max.
