I'm currently installing Xubuntu on and old computer (K6-2@400MHz, 128MB RAM) and it has taken for around 2 hours now. Is that normal for old setups like this? I've also partitioned over 200MB for the swap file.

Nevermind... I got the installation ready, but the installer failed to install the boot loaders. It is a fatal error and when I try to boot there is only a message saying "PRESS ANY KEY TO REBOOT". When I press any key it reboots and does the same again... I've already installed Win98 earlier and it worked, but not anymore. Is there any way to go past the problem?

Linux is a bit frustrating now...

Xubuntu requires 180isMB to use the graphical installer IIRC, so using less would result in it either failing, or taking a long time. You could try the alternative install CD tough.

In fact I am using the alternate installer CD. Forgot to mention that in the first post though.
