I have just installed & set up a m2 SSD but I encounterd the problem where it deactivates some sata conections after the m2 device is installed is there anyway to get all the sata connections working again after it is installed ?

No, you'll have to use different ports [if you have any available]. The motherboard manual should tell you which ports the m.2 slot shares its bandwidth with. Likewise using a NVMe SSD in the m.2 slot will often disable one or more of the on-board PCI-E slots.

Not if there is PCIe lane sharing going on, you'll have to read the manual to see if that is the case, if you have a few M2 slots you may be able to put the drive in another slot which may have dedicated lanes.

Alternatively, you can get a PCIe to M2 NVMe adaptor and pop it in a free PCIe slot.

as instructed I looked at the Mobo manual & spotted I have 2 more sata ports on the motherboard I wasn't using so I plugged in my device there so all is good now
