Cooling Is it safe to drill an RBX top for LEDs?

coolmeister, this one's for you.

Got an RBX, going on a 939 3000+, wanted to know if the "insert an LED" trick would work to light up my UV coolant. Any precautions I should know about, anything?

I also want to do my Maze4 Chipset block, are either of these able to take the LED hole without destroying themselves?

 

It doesn't so much light the UV coolant as the Lucite top doesn't let much UV through and you will find its better to use a coloured LED rather than a UV one to light the Lucite up rather than the coolant.

Plenty of room to drill either a 3mm or 5mm hole for an LED

Those are Maze3s, can I do it to an RBX/Maze 4 chipset?

 

Those are the only photos i can find at present but i've done a few Maze4 Chipset and TDX A64 blocks also and its basically the same thing.

The Lucite on both are 9mm thick so even if you put a 5mm drill into it, it still leaves 2mm on either side of the hole to play with.

Just make sure you use a good sharp drill bit.
