Hi, I had an idea of using my old computers graphics card in my new one for dedicated phys x. It's a Zotac gtx 260 and I was wondering if it make any difference? Can somebody help explain what Phys X does and should I bother adding the card to my current rig. Cheers
I know that it makes a difference to Unreal Tournament 3... Not sure what else uses physX these days though lol
I think to be honest you will not see any benefit - for a substantially increased power draw. I would suggest holding on to the 260 (unless you really need the £30 you could sell it for) and try installing it as a PhysX card only if you find the GTX580 is struggling in a game. Even then I'd check to see if the game in question would benefit from the additional card. Batman: AA and Mafia 2 are the only two games you will really see any benefit in, and even then the 580 should destroy both of them by itself.
Cheers for the feedback, I will install the card tonight and see if it does benefit from the games I will test it on. P.S. I have a 560ti, I wish that I had a 580
I was being generous. I'm sure there are more than 5..but not enough to warrant bothering. Am I wrong?
