    Hi there.
I'm about to purchase the new MMORPG Warhammer Online. But I think my video card is garbage.

It is a Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/GL, 82910GL Integrated Graphics Device. Lovely, right?

Anywho, I've all but confirmed it to be trash at best for that game. And I basically need to know if my motherboard is upgradeable. I wouldn't know where to start for such answers.

So I figured here is as good of a place as any.

My motherboard is an Asus Goldfish2. I bought the pc in 2005...:(

Is my video card garbage? If so, can it be upgraded? And if so there, what would be a good, not-so-costly replacement that can help me run the game?

    Thanks in advance.

i see your motherboard does not have any PCI-e or AGP slots. you could get a PCI graphics card, as volund suggests, but this is a less than ideal solution as PCI graphics cards are old and crappy. or you could get a new motherboard with PCI-e slots and a real graphics card. you should be able to find a mobo for well under $75, and then get a decent graphics card. this will also allow you to upgrade your processor to a core 2 duo should you want to.

    what's your budget?

Your in a rather bad spot. With no PCI-E OR AGP sort your stuck with pci video cards.. which will improve performance its also a ripe off in my opinion. They aren't cheep because they are pci, essentially legacy support costs $$.

basically that means your stuck up grading the mobo.. trying to keep as much of what you got as you can.. sry to say though the market is basically nill for micro atx mobo in the LGA775 socket flavor 800/533mhz fsb with DDR (not DDR2)

That means your stuck with video card + mobo + ram + cpu and most likely psu.. so your looking at basically a whole new pc.. kinda makes that pci video card look good a? just remember your paying for that video card as nothing more then a way to hold back the wave... its in no way going to help when you decide to bite the bullet and upgrade more.

no need to get pissy. nowhere previously in the thread were the mobo specs listed. in fact, you said you couldn't find them on asus's site, so i didn't bother googling at first.

Absolutely. You can also still pick up an Abit IL-90V here and there for about £50,-- and drop in a Pentium Mobile Core Duo for about £50,-- if you eBay around. A low power, low heat, high performance solution with a PCI-e slot right there.

OP, Im sorry to say it looks like it will be cheaper in the long run to buy/build a new pc, you could look for a old cheapo asrock mobo that will handle your ddr1 ram and old P4/celeron but even if you did theres little chance you psu will be up to the task of powering a modern pcie card. Sorry dude but it might be just time to upgrade to a new pc.
