Yeah there is from what i have heard but you need x amount of posts before you can access it i think.

its here, but its only for those with a nice high post cost. Its done for members protection.

I wont let you know what the number of posts is required incase you go spamming to increase it and gain access.

 

Pity really, I've got loads of kit including CPU's I no longer need.

 

Well then hang around, make enough posts to convince the forum machinery that you're not trolling and then reap the benefits.

 

we have had in the past people post enough in order to see the for sale forums but we still get stiffed, i think one chap broken down his machine to sell, took the money and did a run.

So to discourage this behaviour we make it difficult to get there, hence earning the right.

Well that is hardly convincing, I hope you mean that your forced to sell on ebay and not that the only reason you joined this forum was to sell your old hardware...

I joined here in April 2009 after being a member with a few hundred posts at Custom PC for around a year.

There's no need to resent, we don't mean to offend, I've picked my words very careful as to not cause offence, but stuff like we describe does happen so if we're suspicious it's a defence mechanism...

I noticed loads of folks going on about transfering their post counts.

Seemed like an utterly pointless thing to do, I mean who cares about post counts, sheesh.

then after 6 months a new forum appeared.

I then found out why people were banging on about post counts.

I was gutted.
I'd missed out on some cracking bargains.
I was hacked off about the whole, "your forum has gone, thanks for all the fish" mess up again.
I was just as hacked off at none of the folks in the know who knew me from CPC didn't mention it.

Oh well.

Whats done is done.

While this is my new main forum and therfore internet home.
I still feel like it was a bit of a mess TBH, still leaves a bit of a bad taste.

 

Moyo2k - I know it happens, I was stiffed by a 'well respected' long time member of CPC so as has been previously said it's no guarantee.

I have a concept of honour which may be a quaint, old fashioned idea but it's one I live by.

unknowngamer- Me too, I'm not a post count junkie either so didn't bother asking for mine to be transferred either.

 

don't know you have a market here, I was thought only ocuk have one.

i know how you feel, had a couple forum changes elsewhere and lost interest soon afterwards.

stick around, i think your post count is nearly there. Bit-tech is a mature forum and won't disappoint you with shallow posts

FYI, it tells you in the "Feedback and Suggestions" forum about the post count needed for the sales forums. It's hardly a secret.

 

Good idea to have restrictions.
