ebuyer beats scan hands down for customer service, im in the middle of an rma with them at the moment and so far they are so much easier to deal with than scan.

also ebuyer has an excellent monitoring system, you can track your parcel all the way to your door

Argos sell cheap stuff too but their hardware list is a bit pathetic, but when they do sell its quite cheap.

Currently live in Australia myself and am trying to get my hands on the newer Sapphire 4890's since we won't see them for months here.

    http://www.specialtech.co.uk

Seems to have a nice range, but upon doing a search for Customer Reviews, it comes back quiet negative - does anyone have some first hand experience with them?

    Thanks,
    VD

    i use:

    ebuyer
    scan
    aria
    microdirect

    i hate:

overclockers (overpriced and everything they sell is 5*, also bad comments are removed The odd bargin every now and again)

CConline (extremely crap customer service, there was a massive thread on CPC forum about all the problems people had with them)

i have never used but would:

    yoyotech

I would just like to add, as my very first post...

OCUK, may look great and all, but if you actually go on the forums a bit, they are quite pro-BNP. Even to the point I have heard they fund the BNP directly.. I know many businesses fund evil people (i.e. Shell) but that is my two pence.

    GTFO!

The OCUK forum residents are the same kind of people who congregate here; a small minority of whom may actually be sympathetic to the BNP. But the forums do not reflect the views of the staff or the owners (same as here) and I'd think twice before posting libellous rumours about political funding.

Welcome to BT. Please make your next post a bit more considered.

I usually go with Scan these days... but there are some problems that they need to fix

    - web site performance is sometimes woeful

    - selection... when building a full PC, its rare that Scan will have everything I want, especially the memory due to a small number of suppliers.

As for ebuyer.... well I ordered a usb key from them... waited days for them to actually ship it, despite it being in stock.. status was just 'awaiting picking' for days. In the end I canceled the order and sent them a snotty email. Never heard anything back, and as such have never ordered from them again. Thousands of £ of business lost due to crap service !

Ive not really had a problem with OCUK.. other than their packaging being a bit dodgy - like all your oem stuff thrown in a box and left to clang around !

For delivery ... I avoid any company that uses DHL or TNT or related companies.
City Link / Royal Mail is fine though for me.

YMMV but I've found that City Link are the worst. If they do actually find the house, they wont leave items in a safe place, and wont redirect to an alternative address.

You can't beat RM but unfortunately many suppliers find them to expensive.

I ordered an LCD using amazon website, delivered with citylink. Broke the second day. Good thing amazon has a replacement, sent with city link. Never had problems with that and other pc stuff.

    Microdirect uses city link

    +1

Please, no trolling here. This is a hardware thread and not a political one.:nono:

Getting back on the subject, I would rate Scan, Novatech and Overclockers (I'm not racist :naughty:)

quick question when did the free delivery at ebuyer over £50 come into effect? when I spent £195 and then £200 there i had to pay :( However with parcelforce I didn't mind paying as it arrived the next day

Anyway on topic- ebuyer.com or dabs.com are the ones that i use never used scan but only just heard of it from the back of CPC mag :)

They fluctuate quite frequently these days, but the trend has been lower and lower. The lower rates originally for a weekend, then a few weeks and now it is indefinite. Also certain items have free delivery... I've bought memory and HDDs and the odd other thing and had free delivery, but again this varies over time. And their Super Saver delivery is quite reasonable IMHO.

OcUK offer free delivery for their forum members with a certain number of posts and certain time served. Novatech, I've just noticed, offer free delivery for forum members with over 50 posts per month.

I cannot believe that no one has mentioned these guys Lambda Tek.
They are often the cheapest place that I can find, and excellent service.

Anything wrong with Being Pro BNP? Seems quite a lot of people are today, now that the Current Government have put the country into the Crapper.

    Sorry for the offtopic.

eBuyer and Novatech have been good for me.

Friend found Scan say they have stock, then dont, and then delay his order :/
