Small Form Factor Is there any point upgrading to 64bit AMD?

I currently have a 1700+ AXP at 3200+, a gig of ram, NF7-S etc - is there actually any benefit in upgrading to 64bit? The only reason I would do so at the moment is to go down the SFF route, looking particularly at the rather pricy SN95G5V2
Should I wait til Nforce 4 comes out, or will that require me to sell my 6800GT and get a PCI-E one?

In order to use Nforce 4 you MUST have a PCI Express video card. Otherwise, Nforce 3 is the way to be. Anyway, if you are looking for improved performance over inadequacies of your current system, then yes, it is worth upgrading. Otherwise, I would stick with what you have. But, if you need a SFF box, the SN95G and an Athlon 64 is definitely the route you'd want to take; the performance improvements over Athlon XPs is gigantic in some high end games.

What a wonderful reply - thanks for the useful advice. I think I will stick with what I have for now, until prices drop or there is another major leap in technology. I can't be bothered with PCI-E at the moment, it seems rather pointless if AGP is still not even being used to its full potential.

It's just futureproofing right now - you'd really be crazy to set up a new AGP system right now (with a new video card) since PCIE will be really in full swing by probably june-ish.

That said a stronger CPU with an A64 setup could probably do a lot for you.

Havent looked at shuttles for ages, but cant you get an nForce 3 250 based one? Still has AGP but you get a A64 socket too.
